Am I the only one bothered by the fact that the balloon monster had boobs? Because I'm bothered by that. Not in a weird sexual way, it's just that I don't expect my Japanese monsters to have any sexual characteristics (vagina monsters aside, of course).

It's not surprising Ami believes in Astrology, many Japanese are very superstitious, things like good luck charms are big business... hell Kit-Kats are seen as good luck foods, even the Bitter Almond and Watermelon flavoured ones.

Yup, when it comes to foods of any kind having weird and wonderful flavours, Japan has got the world beat. They have everything from Soy Sauce Kit-Kats, Cola Kit-Kats, Strawberry Hazelnut Kit-Kats, Sweet Potato Kit-Kats and even Pumpkin Pudding Kit-Kats.

I'll keep this short and sweet. I watched this show a number of years ago, and enjoyed it a great deal. I've also watched sentai shows, so I'm not offput by the "guy in rubber suit" approach at all. Bottom line is this. This show was made for japan and japan alone, where this approach is better understood frankly. And there have been live-action sailor moon musical stage shows in japan long before this show was made. It was never intended for the international market. Frankly, for what it is, It's actually a great show. But my reaction isn't to make bad jokes as a automatic reaction when I see rubber suits. I actually gave it a chance. But hey, your loss. I could go into detail on why this show is so good, but it would be lost on you and your nimrod audience. Oh and just so you know. There not called the negaverse. Its the dark kingdom. Period. You can take your shitty ass dub and shove it up your ass. Honestly, you lost me right there when I read that. Jesus H christ, negaverse sounds so fucking stupid.

Wow. Really? Okay why exactly would I go through all this trouble if I didn't like this show? I LOVE this show. Part of really enjoying something is the ability to see it for what it really is- not blindly worshiping it. This show is great, and it has some elements of it that are silly. I like to poke fun at the sillier elements as I enjoy the series. Mel Brooks once said that in order to satirize something effectively, it needs to come from a place of love- not hate. And I absolutely agree with that. And don't give me that "it's a cultural thing" crap. It's not cultural thing- Japan isn't some bizarre world where all of this is totally played straight. It's just as ridiculous there. I'm not mocking it because I hate it. I would never bother to put some much time into something I didn't like.

Like I said in a comment to an earlier review, there are some changes but it's more or less Sailor Moon as I remember it. I really like how faithful to the source material it is. Every character is who they're supposed to be.

I don't know what's sillier: that Luna and Queen Beryl are both paying off the same person to report on every rock they find larger than a golf ball, or that they keep going for it.Credits still say "Act 1" in this one!
