I promise not to make him overuse the joke. I figure that having been used twice it can now (rather like the Daleks) have a rest. :) Plus, of course, in the real world Rick is lovely and not at all creepy, so I'm perfectly happy for the Porn Critic to go all Abhorrent Admirer on Ursa because I think it's funny. And also because if they ever met Ursa would probably end up threatening him with her extensive range of edged weapons.

What's funny is that I'm talking about someone being creepy to a girl who has cameras in the flats of all her AB colleagues :-)But seriously, I know it was just a bit of fun. He seems like a very nice guy and I'm a big fan of his stuff and I'd be very surprised if his real personality was anything at all like his Porn Critic persona. I didn't mean to come off like some kind of prude (really, I'm not. You'd be hard-pressed to find a bigger proponent of free expression than me.). I'm just saying that due to the nature of his material he's walking a very fine line between clever and offensive, more so than many other internet reviewers; and really, isn't it a line everyone has to walk in this day and age?Anyway, enough about that. Let's talk about you! This is, after all a comments section for YOUR video. I always enjoy Stuff You Like,(your sweet Irish lilt makes it even more enjoyable) and this edition is no exception. Honestly, I'm just happy I have vaguely positive (and, indeed, any) comments to read. :)I'm lucky in that Ursa seems to veer over to the side of happy-go-lucky but really off-the-wall rather than offensive. Except the whole spying on her colleagues thing...which began oh so long ago...Actually, it began with episode 23, and asking Liam for a cameo, which was a lead-in to a joke that didn't properly materialise until episode 35. And even then only in passing.That seems like a really long time ago now... [/nostalgia]

Well...thanks! :) This review is... also kind of just Not About The Movie, but I'm hoping people won't mind too much. I had to keep hauling the script back to Serenity when it wanted to wander off on its own.Script: But philosophy!Me: BUT REVIEW!Also, I have never laughed so hard editing a review as I did with this one. Everybody's performances just cracked me up. Especially the ad-libs.I've never made a commentary track on an episode before, but I think this one I might actually have something to say. Mostly 'I love all of these people' but still. Something. :)(Spot an ad-libbed line, win a point! Points don't mean prizes, but I will be very impressed and go 'oooh'. Boothers, looking at the script doesn't count.)

Jill litterately told Welshy I was from Sweden... after we had all-ready made out two Sherlock Holmes collaborations.. our conversation on Skype went exactly like this. "I talked to Welshy and he did remember you!""Oh that's great!" "Yeah, I just had to say that happy blond swedish girl!"".... you did what? Jill I'm from Denmark." "Oh Sorry, the Netherlands." "That's even further away!" And that is what you call a goof... I am still laughing every-time I remember this.. like right now. And yes, every-body in the world must know.But now as we figured she is actually secretly Mycroft Holmes.. maybe she did it on purpose to annoy me.. her humour can be very devious that way <_<I just found out that I don't really trust Jill any-more...

The comments about Rain made me think; as an audience are we willing to see women engage in brutal fights, see them bloody and hurt yet come back strong, or do we expect them to never take damage, be kick ass all the way through and show no fear? Rain seemed like, from the start, she was programmed to kick ass and even though a tortured character still had to skills to beat people up without taking damage herself. I was engaged in an online debate about what the perceptions are for how female characters in action roles are portrayed, and it seemed like the conclusion was "If she can't take the combat, she shouldn't fight." It didn't seem to matter if she grew and improved as a fighter, but more of a reaction that if she wasn't able to handle herself earlier, she shouldn't expect growth as a character and a fighter. We already know that's bunk from how awesome Katara was, growing and learning in Avatar and how much improvement she gained during the progression of the story with her waterbending. The point was made more poignant by the fact that I was talking about my favorite female character Tigra, and in all of the fights I see her in she gets kicked around, slapped, slammed and crushed, yet still has the internal fight to go for the victory. She isn't timid she'll get in your face and will be willing to take damage to give damage, and I just don't know if an audience is willing to see a woman take physical abuse even though she's expecting a fight...is that naivety to think an audience would root for her in hand to hand combat, or will gender imbalance still make it the same narrative of :(1) woman needs to learn her place, teach her a lesson or (2) You're a douchebag for fighting a woman, you should not hit her.

One thing I freaking loved about Korra... the girl gets kicked around and it doesn't necesarilly look pretty. When she was stuck in that "Wind training." thing and got slapped around, I was just thinking. "Yes!" I will how-ever leave further debate until one of my own videos gets released which is all-ready scripted, a video where I'll talk about a term I myself invented I like to call. "The steel barbie." ideal... which no one can measure up to, not even within fiction itself.

Steel Barbie...I can name easily three women: She-Ra, She-Hulk, and Diana herself. Black Canary, Wasp and Hawkgirl all take a lot more damage in combat because they just aren't as powerful, Wasp especially seems the most likely to fight for her values, not because she can not be hurt but for her convictions.

Steel Barbie as a...concept could work. Sort of. I mean, we've got Superman, after all, who's basically the same idea. And his hair never gets mussed either. Though in real life he's a bit of a dork, I guess. That seems to be true of a lot of alter egos, Batman excepted.But unless they are superpowered or Goddesses (hey Wonder Woman!) it just seems weird. And there are quite a few more Boring Invincible Heroes (and Heroines) about these days. Actually, it was one of the things Liam talked about in his Tomb Raider review. We like our characters to have to TRY, to get mussed up or bloodied or hurt. If things are too easy for them...what's the point? They're supposed to be relatable. Way more awesome than we are, but still relatable. "If you prick us, do we not bleed?" Steel Barbie surely doesn't.

Well, I also mean it's a kind of ideal of both body and mind that all women within fictional medium tries to life up to.. and none of them really can, which makes them look sort of forced.. because they are. Again, i'll get more into that in my own video in due time. And Batman gets to be beaten up real bad for time to time.. also he is the god damn Batman, unreasonable cool for compleately unexplainable reasons... if you really stop and dig into his character, he really shouldn't come across as cool as he does.. he just doesn't make any sense on any logic level..

One of the many reasons the horror genre and I don't get along. That and the gore. And the jump scares. And my overactive imagination...

The MIB/DJReport Firefly/Serenity episodes: a review SO detailed, it took 3 parts and 45 minutes to complete! :DAlso, had to appease Liam somehow...I'm so mean to him. XD I don't know how or why he puts up with it.
