Cheapus reviews Serenity, the follow-up movie to Firefly, Joss Whedon's low-rated sci-fi western series that was quickly canceled. In the movie, the crew of Serenity, captained by Mal Reynolds (Nathan Fillion), try to evade an assassin (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who's out to neutralize River (Summer Glau) because she may have used her psychic abilities to learn secrets about the Alliance. It was a huge gamble making a big budget film based on a failed TV show. Did it pay off? Well... you probably already know the answer to that, but Cheapus will tell you anyway!
This week, we side with the Browncoats in a Serenity-themed "Agency vs. Structure" Smackdown! With cameos from Welshy, Cheapus, FunkyMonkey, Sofie Liv, the Porn Critic, and Mysterious Overlord of the Agony Booth Winston O'Boogie, it's going to be... interesting.2012 (2009): A masterwork of idiotic disaster porn

“For the most part, it seems Corporate likes keeping their talents easily labeled and given clearly-defined jobs these days. Which is why two books (one currently being published, one coming pretty soon) caught my attention.”Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD (so far)
“Agents of SHIELD is undoubtedly a weak show—staying awake through all six episodes again to write this post was a bit of a challenge—but it doesn’t appear that great, memorable TV was ever really the goal here.”Secret Avengers is what Agents of SHIELD should have been
“It feels distinctly like the beginning; that one day, the name Ales Kot will be associated with something huge and fantastic, and we’ll look back at early issues of Secret Avengers and recall how we knew he was destined for greatness all along.”22 Jump Street (2014)
“This sequel to the reboot of the TV series 21 Jump Street is about as meta as a film can get.”
