VIDEO: The Scorpion King (2002)

We’re sorry...

The Cinema Slob is ready to rock (hah!) as he reviews The Scorpion King, a spin-off film from the popular Mummy franchise. Often looked down upon for simply being a cheap attempt to prove Dwayne Johnson could be believable as an action star, the Slob finds that there’s a lot more going on in this movie. And most of it involves a perpetually half-naked Kelly Hu.

Isn’t that the same way Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle opened?

This would’ve worked better with a Sursum Ursa cameo.  Just saying.  Overall like you the movie was only good cause of Kelly Hu, she is such an underrated actress; and not just because she’s hawt, but she knows how to work a scene.

      Everything’s better with Sursum.

Hi Jill! I’m sure there’s a bad movie we can geek out about together at some point!

            Sounds like fun! 😀

Sursum will you EVER review the Mummy animated series?  It got me through the early oughts with Jackie Chan Adventures and X-Men Evolution, so it deserves some love.  And lets face it, Imotep is a complete asshole.

Maybe? I didn’t really watch much of it, though what I remember I did like. Also Evie was a redhead in it, which was inexplicable but made me more likely to like it!

          •  Oh god, I forgot that even existed.  Wow.

  • Nasty In The Pasty

You had me at “half-naked Kelly Hu”.
