VIDEO: Turbo (2013)

We’re sorry...

This video is no longer available due to the shutdown of Blip.tv.

Sofie teams up with the Film Renegado one more time for yet another DreamWorks movie, and hey, look! It has Mexicans in it! That makes the Renegado a happy man indeed! And as always, Sofie is never ever sarcastic about anything.

The sad irony is that, by pulling his car, the Champ forfeited the race by leaving his vehicle. We all saw Ricky Bobby, right?

Renegado’s an Autobot now? I gotta get to bed…

    • Sofie Liv

Renegado was always an autobot.. you just never noticed before…

Because his bandana hides the symbol. ;)

He got struck by lightning in an electrical storm! He got molded with the steel and began to MUTATE FORM!

Title nitpick – Mozart’s Fifth Symphony? I think you meant Beethoven’s Seventh.

Is it that meltingly-hot in Denmark, too? *sighs* I hope, that the weather will cool down soon.

        • Sofie Liv

When I drove home from Belgium on the German free way last saturday it was 36 degrees out-side…. 36 degrees!

Jesus christ! thankfully it’s not THAT hot here in Denmark, but still, i’m sweating bullets here.

          • CaptainCalvinCat

Oh yes – last saturday was REALLY hot. And Germans started the #stirbSommer Hashtag for Twitter (#dieSummer) and I just thought “Just end this summer already”.

          • danbreunig

That’s typical hay-baling weather over here. 36 C / 95 F + with humidity and dust and chaff flying, turning your clothes to slime in minutes.

          • CaptainCalvinCat

Definitely – those are weather circumstances under which you can only take the song “endless summer” and see it as a threat.

      • maarvarq

No worries. I didn’t think that northern Europe got that hot, but obviously it does. Hope you’re feeling better.

        • Sofie Liv

yeah it does.. but only for like one to two months a year before it gets really cold again, so the issue is that no-body is used to it around here, the other ten months it’s wet and cold!

Thumbs up for knowing the classics.

It’s kind of my thing. One of my proudest moments was identifying Mahler’s 8th (the “Symphony of a Thousand”) from the opening chord.

        • Sofie Liv

dude in my book, that’s just cool point.
I listen to quite a bit of classic myself and like to play it on the piano, it’s just not every-thing I can remember the name of on sound..

Just in passing, it’s obvious that the the snails are regularly moving around a lot faster than Turbo was “racing” in that opening scene (a 1-yard-dash). Any one of them coulda made that “sprint” in maybe two minutes at the worst at the rate they were going. Hell, in the one-second clip we see of him DURING that race, he moved half an inch. Even if we were to assume he took two seconds to breathe between each lunge, that’s, at worst, six seconds per inch. Or about 3 1/2 minutes per yard. But we’re to believe it took him SEVENTEEN minutes. And he’s supposed to be TRYING to move faster than usual (since he’s clearly exerting himself more than every other snail is). There seems to have been no attempt made at visual continuity, like they wrote something down, and even the animators and director couldn’t give a rat’s ass to make it fit.

In fact, if a snail (or anyone, really) travels 1 yard in 17 minutes, that translates to about 0.002 mph. Which is, apparently, really slow for a snail (yes, I looked it up, I’ve come THIS far). For a snail that I must presume didn’t realize it was even in a race, thus probably not trying very hard, and which, come to think of it, may not have even been moving in a straight line.

    I’m a car!

  • Wait, is Sophie not a beautiful blonde who is good at volleyball?

    • danbreunig

Isn’t it obvious enough? Of course she’s good at volleyball.
