How to Sink a Career in Six Easy Steps: A Tribute to the Films of Burt Reynolds and Hal Needham (part 3 of 8)

We cut to an apprehensive Carrie, and Field looks about as happy to be onboard this film as Gleason does, by which I mean she’s probably wishing she could pull a Flying Nun and get the hell out of there ASAP.

Naturally, the wedding ends with her changing her mind and running off. This time, she gets a call during the wedding (what the hell kind of church has a phone line in the chapel?) from Cletus about helping Bandit out, and after being promised $50,000, she runs off and steals Junior’s car. I think Ms. Field just lost her curveball, as well.

It’s here that one can clearly see where Norm McDonald got inspiration for his Burt Reynolds impression on SNL. It’s uncanny how accurate Norm was.
