Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) (part 8 of 11)

Sam and Mearing head down to Florida to watch as the Autobots get ready to leave on one of their spaceships that has a space shuttle attached, ‘cause that makes total sense. Here we find out that Epps (from the previous two movies) now works for NASA, and we also meet three new Autobots called the Wreckers. So nearly 90 minutes into the film, and we’re still meeting new characters. Lovely. It does help somewhat that one of them is voiced by John DiMaggio, so I have fun picturing Bender in the movie.

And just to drag down the movie further, Agent Simmons now shows up in a wheelchair, having been injured during the big chase scene, and starts hitting on Mearing. And by “hitting on”, I mean he starts talking about her ass an awful lot. Turns out the two of them had a fling once. I wish I didn’t know that. I really do.

We go from that to some “touching” and “emotional” scenes of the Autobots heading in a convoy toward the shuttle that’s going to take them to wherever.
