TLC cancels "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" over that whole child molestation thing
Honey Boo Boo’s momma is SUPPOSED to make bad life decisions. That’s why she’s on TV. That’s how she makes money. She behaves like a grotesquely obnoxious, ignorant, crass redneck and more than two million people tune in every episode to see just how outrageous she can be.
But not anymore.
TLC just cancelled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo after Mama June’s secret relationship with a convicted child molester got exposed. Mark McDaniel was Mama June’s boyfriend ten years ago when he forced an eight-year-old in Mama June’s family to perform oral sex. That led to a decade in prison, but he’s out now… And the couple is back together.
“TLC has cancelled the series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately,” the network said in a statement to PEOPLE. “Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well being.”
But don’t worry, 19 Kids And Counting fans—getting your children wrapped up your wacko cult still a-okay with the network, so long as said cult is Christian.
One can only assume Roma Downey was praying for Honey Boo Boo to get booted off the network before her new show started.
