The NeverEnding Story III: Escape from Fantasia (1994) (part 6 of 8)

Once they’re gone, Engywook steps on a bit of Junior’s rock droppings. For some reason, this causes everything but his head, hands and feet to become invisible. And I’ll admit, after watching this a few times, the gnome couple’s reaction is kind of funny:

Urgl: [laughing] Your body’s gone!
Engywook: Well, your body went years ago!

It’s funny, because you’d think she’d be concerned about her husband disappearing from existence, but instead she mocks his pain. Yes, we Irish certainly are an abusive people, aren’t we? Engywook goes to choke her, and somehow touching her makes her invisible too. And then they both disappear.

Since they weren’t wishing for anything, coming into contact with Junior’s leavings shouldn’t really have done anything. Now, if they’d accidentally touched him while he was wishing, then maybe I could buy this, but since any bits and pieces that fall off of the Rock Biters are inanimate objects, they wouldn’t be capable of “wishing” for anything.

I guess it’s like Lucy Lawless once said, “Anytime something like that happens, a wizard did it.”
