The Last Airbender (2010) (part 6 of 10)
Ong then wakes up to find Zhao gloating at him, and asking a few questions we already know the answers to.
Outside, tanks arrive, and someone in a weird blue mask is hiding underneath one as it enters the temple. And yes, this is just as sudden as it sounds. We’ve never seen the guy in the mask before, yet he gets his own “this is important” rimshot. And while the fans know full well what we’re seeing, I have to imagine the newbies are just flat out confused.
The guy in the mask (who I’ll just reveal now is called the Blue Spirit) sneaks further into the temple, and a soldier walks down a hallway to discover two dead guys strung up from the ceiling. Predictably, the soldier is then himself attacked.
The Blue Spirit frees Ong with a pair of swords, and then Zhao comes across the same two dead guys hanging from the ceiling. And bizarrely, the second shot of them is treated like it’s just as surprising as the first.
