Starflight One (1982) (part 4 of 11)
We get a nighttime shot of the Starflight One model while Big Brother tells us there’s just one hour until “liftoff”. Honestly, guys, if the plane was never designed to go out of the atmosphere (and in fact it could break up if that happens) you’re just tempting fate by treating this like a Space Shuttle launch. And now that I think about it, calling your plane “Starflight One” isn’t exactly telling Fate to sit in the corner and take a chill pill, either.
Crates are being loaded into Starflight’s cargo hold, and the crates say “SUPREME PRECIOUS METALS CORP”. I’ll go ahead and reveal right now that Starflight is being loaded with crates of gold bricks, but it’s for reasons that will never quite come together. I mean, we’ll see the gold a lot, but their plot purpose (if they actually have one) will never be revealed to us lowly mortal non-filmmakers.
Next, we find Felix the Reporter in a communications hotbed in the back of the airplane. He gets handed his “shaving kit” by a guy who turns out to be none other than Willie from V, Freddy Krueger, and Repeat Offender Robert Englund himself. I’ve watched this movie a few times, and I’m still pretty hazy on what Robert does or why he’s even in the movie in the first place.
Felix quickly asks a stewardess to “do something about my shaving kit”. [?] What, is it being disruptive? Did his shaving kit have too many drinks before boarding the flight?
