Space Mutiny (1988) (part 6 of 7)

Cut to a party down in Engineering, which is amazingly similar to the party from before. (So, I guess Ryder’s been replaced as flight commander?) Well, I do notice that one of the current guests in attendance is Lady Godiva. Attention Narrator informs us that with the pirate threat ended, it’s time to focus on “internal problems”.

Flow it, show it, long as God can grow it.

Cut rather suddenly to a scene in Engineering, where a bunch of guys, including Scrawny Goatee Guy, are cheering about… something. Ryder calls for their attention, while MacPhearson lurks in the background, behind some machinery.

Apropos of nothing at all, Ryder orders various people to make weapons, get food and supplies, or act as soldiers (read: cannon fodder). He declares they’re going to “hold out here, and never let them take over the Southern Sun!” To which MacPhearson quietly rejoins: “Asshole.” Snerk. That’s certainly a refreshing response you don’t often hear to these overwrought rallying cry-type speeches.
