Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny (1972) (part 3 of 11)

We then cut back to our depressed Beach Bum Santa Claus in his sleigh. He eventually comes around when he hears the “Kids” shouting. Santa looks down a dirt trail and sees them emerge from behind some weeds and run up to his sleigh. For no clear reason, they all stop several yards away from Santa and kneel down [?]. Hey, he’s Santa Claus, not the Pope.

But if you want, I’m sure Santa will let you kiss his ring.
We hear one kid’s overdubbed voice ask, “Hey, Santa, what are you doing here?” Santa replies, “This is the first time in hundreds of years that I got stuck! My sleigh came right down here in the sand. Kerplunk, we hit hard!” I must admit that before watching this movie, I wouldn’t have pegged Santa as someone who used Yiddish slang in everyday conversation.
Another overdubbed kid’s voice asks if Santa’s hurt. Santa says, “Just my feelings!” [?] He again mentions his reindeer. “They tried so hard to get me out of the sand!” But, they finally just bailed out on Santa because it was “too hot for them!” Oh, but do you recall, the most callous reindeer of all?
