RAW FEED: RIP Leonard Nimoy

Leonard Nimoy passed away Friday morning at the age of 83. I’m generally not one for writing celebrity obituaries, but since we have a lot of Star Trek fans who visit the Agony Booth and a picture of Mirror Spock was in the footer of this site for many years, I figured I’d open up this space for anyone who’d like to discuss Leonard Nimoy’s life and work. (Extremely relevant video included above.)

News of his passing was like an aching wound. But we’ll see him again…in the stars.

This was a wonderful idea, Winston, thanks for doing it.

When I think Nimoy my first memories do go back to The Animated Series. But I also think about In Search Of… As a kid when I heard Nimoy’s voice I didn’t just want to believe Bigfoot existed: I was sure he did. The Bermuda Triangle, The Mummy’s Curse, Atlantis, ESP, I loved that show. I think that’s why Nimoy’s passing is hitting me harder than DeForrest Kelly’s did; Nimoy was a part of my childhood in a way Kelly wasn’t.

I’m going to miss Leonard a lot.
