      As far as I know, in Japan it’s quite common for a father to be nowhere to be seen due to work. They go to work for a long time and leave the mother to raise the kids. See-Rei.

    Yeah, the “lesson” seemed a bit weird to me too, especially since all of the other senshi actually learned something when they levelled up (well…if you count the power of fangirling as a level up for Sailor Moon). So it seemed kind of contradictory to have Makoto’s lesson only reinforce her beliefs. The whole idea of “I will always be alone” also really seems to go against what the Darkury arc set up (i.e. that friendship might not go the way you expect or want, but they’ll always be there for you). I could be wrong, but that stood out for me too.

    (I loved the addition of more appropriate music too…the scary part was how WELL it fit the scene!)

      Some people refuse to learn a lesson and the life changing experience just reinforces what they want to continue to believe

        That’s a good point! And I guess it’s more realistic to have one person still cling to their old beliefs even while everyone else learns something from their experience. (Wait…did Ami actually learn anything when she leveled up? I suppose the real lesson came from that whole time as Dark Mercury/breaking free from that, since she powered up not too long after…I think.) It just felt a little out of place compared to the others. But surprises can be a good thing sometimes!

          Ami’s trip to the darkside was her life changing experience.She learned she has friends who care about her and want to help her but she also needs to be a friend to them as well. Even though she told Usagi she didn’t remember anything,But her recognition of Nephrite when he saved her seems to discount this statement.I bet she remembers everything and does not want to worry the others

            Yeah, I got the exact same impression too, since that look she gave Nephrite definitely seemed to be a look of recognition. Not to mention it would also explain her behaviour when she was freed from the spell — sure, she claims that she “must” have done something bad to the others, but I think she knew for sure, which is what made the guilt even greater. (Even though Usagi was her main target.)

            I only remember her sending Yuma’s ( at 3:10) after the others.
            not personally targeting them, but i guess the guilt for that would be there too.

    You didnt show it but i loved the looks they all gave Ami when the breakaway dress was tried on.I just knew Ami has a kinky side

            I think most of them use Velcro now. You would assemble the dress before you put it on.There would be several Velcro seams and they pull easily apart.
            maybe the string is attached to the velcro tabs on the seams

      I always like the attention to detail on this show,every thing is color coordinated for each girl.from the chopsticks the used to play elefun, to the foods and drinks they have.
