We’re So Excited For This Oscar Promo We’ll Forgive The Fact That Ellen Wears Tennis Shoes With A Tux
Yes, yes, we know. That’s her thing. We’re trying to deal. Let’s focus on the things we can all agree on, shall we? Like the fact that the first Oscars trailer is out and it is awesome and happiness-making and have we made it clear that awards season, not Christmas, is the most wonderful time of the year? It is.
The trailer is a musical extravaganza, with 250 tuxedo-clad dancers who are also really good lip-synchers while dancing, which is a thing we probably cannot do. Also, too, if you are tired of these sorts of things at your awards shows we do not want to hear it thankyewverymuch. The song is by Fitz and the Tantrums from their More Than Just A Dreamrecord, which is well worth picking up if you haven’t already.
Also worth peeping: Delightful little behind-the-scenes vignettes over at the official Oscar page, including an interview with the trailer director, Paul Feig, he of Nurse Jackie and Bridesmaids and The Office and everything really.
Expect similar, if not even more gushy, gushing with each new trailer. Consider yourself warned.
