Never Too Young to Die (1986) (part 9 of 10)

Lance takes out another guy with Kajagoogoo hair, and he and Danja head for a tunnel behind the ampitheater. Meanwhile, Ragnar is in his underground lair watching them on a monitor. Riley tells him, “There’s a solution!” Um, what was the problem? “If we trigger the Diablo valves,” Riley says, “The contamination will still go!” Ragnar asks him, “Won’t the Doomsday Blast [?] destroy all valve controls?” Riley says he has “remote backups” built in, causing Ragnar to gleefully call him a “sweet thing”. Ragnar asks how to control the backups, and Riley pulls out a silver briefcase. “With the radio in this briefcase!” he says, then pulls the disk out of Ragnar’s jacket. “Keyed by this magnetic disk!” Since when was it a “magnetic” disk? Ragnar grabs the disk and the briefcase and they both run out. Which makes me wonder. At the very beginning of the film, Ragnar quite clearly said that he was doing this for a ransom. However, we never saw him actually demand anything from anyone. As a matter of fact, he hasn’t mentioned a ransom once since that first scene. So, I guess Ragnar is just going to poison the water supply because he’s, well, evil and everything.
