Myra Breckinridge (1970) (part 10 of 12)

Now, it’s just what everyone wanted, yet another clip from a Laurel and Hardy movie, this time with the footage tinted blue for absolutely no reason. They’re both in military uniforms, teary-eyed. Ollie cries, “We had to do it! It hurt me more than it did him!” Stan squeaks, “Poor Daniel!” Daniel, you’re a star. The two men are then overcome with tears as we close out this installment of Useless Desecration of Cinematic Icons. Tune in next time to see some more of America’s legends trashed.

Myra Breckinridge (1970) (part 10 of 12)

Laurel and Hardy learn how footage of them was used in Myra Breckinridge.

Then it’s back to the rotating mannequin outside Myra’s apartment, and we learn that Farrah is about to pay a visit. Myron’s there, wondering why Myra is so interested in Farrah. She says that “having raped Rusty’s manhood, I must now complete the cycle and seduce his girl! Only then will my victory be complete. Thus exuding power over both sexes, and indeed, over life itself!” Hey, makes perfect sense to me.

There’s a knock on the door, and, good God, we get another Laurel and Hardy clip. These two poor bastards. Ollie calls a woman a “tough customer” and a bawling Stan cries, “She’s so sweet!” Stan puts on his top hat, which Ollie promptly uses his fist to smash down over Stan’s face.
