Morning Sideboob: George Clooney Finally Caves and Gets Engaged
The Perennial Bachelor Has Met “The One”
Never say never. George Clooney is settling down. The Oscar winner divorced actress Talia Balsam in 1993 after four years of marriage and swore to a lone-wolf lifestyle. His long list of lady friends over the years includes Lucy Liu, Krista Allen, Renee Zellweger, Sarah Larson, Elisabetta Canalis, and Stacy Keibler.
George’s on-screen characters sometimes even mirrored his feelings on marriage.
But the lucky lady who made the 52-year-old turn his back on being single is 36-year-old attorney Amal Alamuddin.
According to an unnamed source:
George and Amal are trying to keep things very low-key, but they also aren’t really trying to hide this, it doesn’t seem. I think it’s like they want the people they love to know that this is real, that they plan on being together forever.
We’ll believe it when we see it.
Dave Grohl Loves the Lorde
When Nirvana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this month, they had a string of women join them onstage for their live performance to take over vocal duties. One of them was 17-year-old New Zealander Lorde, a thing which gave many people a sad.
Dave Grohl happens to be one of her biggest fans and has nothing but great things to say about her. He told Rolling Stone about the first time he heard her music on the radio:
I was driving. My two daughters, Violet and Harper, who are eight and five years old, started singing along. I was so happy and relieved that my two girls were singing a popular song on the radio that had some substance and depth, which I considered to be healthy for them as kids. I know that sounds kind of parent-ish. When I first heard ‘Royals’ it was sandwiched between all of that other stripper pop. I was so fucking relieved. I thought, ‘Hey, this might be another revolution.’ When I met her I said, ‘When I first heard your song on the radio and my kids sang along, I felt like there was hope for my kids to grow up in an environment which is more than just superficial.’
So picking Lorde to sing “No Apologies” on the big night was a no-brainer. Dave went on to say, “There’s something about her that represented or resembled the Nirvana aesthetic. She has an incredible future ahead of her as a writer, performer, and vocalist.”
Not bad for 17.
Aaron Carter Discusses Drug Abuse and Everlasting Love for Hilary Duff
Poor Aaron Carter. It’s gotta be tough to start out your tween years on top, only to see your life come crumbling down. The Carter family in general has had its share of drama. Aaron and his brother, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, have had a contentious relationship with their mother, who they claim was more interested in their money than being there for them. And she’s done some jail time.
Nick recently opened up about his battle with addiction. And the family lost their sister/daughter Leslie, who died of a drug overdose at 25.
Now Aaron is talking about his rough road, which includes addiction and bankruptcy. He now only has $8,000 to his name.
But his biggest regret through it all was dumping the love of his life, Hilary Duff, when he was 13 for none other than Lindsay Lohan.
I don’t know who she is today, she doesn’t know who I am today but I would sweep her off her feet if I ever got a chance to again and fix what I did wrong.
Well, Hilary did just split from her husband, Mike Comrie. We bet she wouldn’t mind picking up the tab for a while if Aaron gets his wish.
