Moonraker (1979) (part 5 of 14)

After Bond leaves, Corrine drives up in a golf cart. Drax calls her over as Chang approaches with the dogs. Drax reveals that he knows she was with Bond the previous night. Corrine makes a lame attempt at denying it, but Drax promptly fires her. At this point, she, like the film, goes completely to the dogs. Chang sets the hungry pooches loose, and rather than getting in the golf cart and just driving away, Corrine decides to run into the woods. Although, it stands to reason she might not have been all that worried about getting away, since she somehow finds time to change her shoes in the middle of the scene.

What follows is one of the most out of place yet effective sequences in the series, as in slow-motion, Corrine is taken down by the dogs in an artful, almost surreal forest setting that makes one think they’ve suddenly walked into the film Legend. Nicely done as it is, this scene is pretty much pointless, since Bond never hears about her death, and in any case, he didn’t have much of a connection with her in the first place.
