KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park (1978) (part 6 of 6)

We catch up to KISS as they’re approaching the Chamber of Thrills. Peter says, “It’s too quiet, if ya ask me.” Ace replies, “Why didn’t ya say so?” He then begins singing the chorus of “Rocket Ride”. A not-so-memorable script choice, as well as a not-so-memorable song.

They spot Sam and decide to follow him into the haunted house, where all heck breaks loose. All the movie monsters from earlier attack simultaneously, and despite the fact that this fight consists mostly of pulling and shoving, there are a couple of interesting tidbits.

There’s a moment where Gene’s stunt double lights a mummy on fire, and you can tell they weren’t quite expecting such a large burst of flame. You can just barely hear the stunt guy say “Shit,” as he stumbles backwards. We also get a good look at Black Ace here, and I mean a very good look. I can’t blame the editor on this one. I sense a vendetta against my favorite, drunken member of KISS.
