KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park (1978) (part 5 of 6)

Cut to the next night, and the next KISS concert. They’re playing “I Stole Your Love”, and singing for real this time. In the TV version, they play the whole song and then it cuts to Zombified Sam, who’s breaking into KISS’ lair in his first attempt to steal their “talismen”. In the EV version, they cut away during the song to Devereaux’s lab, where he sends Sam out on his second attempt. Only this time, Sam gets a “laser gun” to disable the force field that kept him from stealing the “talismen” during his first attempt. I hope you’re paying attention. There will be a test.

In the TV version, Devereaux gives a little more explanation of the power of the “talismen”. It seems that he planted a secret microphone in the security pass button he gave to Melissa, allowing him to overhear KISS talking about them. Okay, who didn’t see that coming? Secret microphones are like the first thing they teach you in Demented Genius 101.
