Howard the Duck (1986) (part 5 of 6)

Howard is noticed and the notion that something may have been brought down this time is floated around, and if you can’t guess that this will end up being the main crux for the second half of the film I just don’t know what to say.

Later, the cops are on the scene and the lead detective (CSI’s Paul Guilfoyle) heads into a room with Beverly close behind where Howard is being held. Beverly is locked out while two cops try to take off what the lead cop thinks is just a costume. And yes, we do see Howard in his underwear and no, you won’t be able to un-see it.

Howard is arrested for being “an illegal alien” and Beverly follows, helping Howard distract the cop escorting him by starting a fire in a trash can with a lit cigar. Beverly gets the cop’s gun and gets him to un-cuff Howard.

As the cops search for them, Howard and Beverly hide in the basement of the lab. They overhear some cops expositing that Howard is armed and dangerous and orders are “shoot to kill” and Howard suggests they get moving. He must be a ventriloquist since the special effects guys didn’t see fit to move his mouth in this shot.
