We’re sorry...

It’s Ursa’s birthday, so she’s celebrating with a woman who kicks butt and takes names… in spaaaaaaace! It’s the Honorverse series of books that transplants the adventures of Horatio Hornblower into the 41st century (and into a female protagonist). Also featuring Prince Zuko, the suspiciously familiar Ode to Exposition, and a special appearance by our own Porn Critic!

And you can start reading the whole Honorverse saga right now for free at the Baen e-books website!

    Well Happy Birthday. ^^

By the way, good look at the Honor-verse.
    It sounds interesting.

  • Happy Birthday to you Jill. It was great to meet you and Andy Sims at Comic Con, if only for a short time. Hope you have a fun day.

    Happy Birthday, Ursa!

I love the hell out of this series and I agree that the earlier books are better because there is much more focus on Honor, but after eighteen or so books I can safely say this is my all-time favorite series of all time.

And you are right: Baen is awesome. More than once I’ve taken advantage of their free library.

I’m sorry, I assumed you knew gaelic.

Tis no problem. That is what Google Translate is for! 😀
(Growing up Northern Irish and Protestant means I know about two words of Gaelic. And ‘telefon’ frankly doesn’t count. Fun fact: the Nostalgia Chick speaks better Irish than I do!)

Word, and I’m the one who’s just edited it. Soooo…many…outtakes… but I think it’s turned out pretty well so far. That said…there was corpsing. A lot of corpsing. (Which is appropriate, for reasons which will become obvious when the review goes up next week.) XD

Love the song, and you have a lovely voice.

If you like kick-ass, take-no-prisoners, female characters …in spaaaace… then you might like Captain Signy Mallory in C.J. Cherryh’s Downbelow Station or Captain Pyanfar Chanur in the same author’s “Chanur” series.

      Awesome, thanks for the recommendations!
