As I said in my Deadfall recap, if the first two movies can be seen as nepotism at its best, the third can be considered nepotism at its worst. Released in December of 1990, this is one of many films in the latter stages of Francis’ career that make you realize just what a wild, crazy, no chance in hell bet Lucas won when he was able to get creative independence with the Star Wars films… because the success from the Godfather films sure as hell didn’t get the same for Coppola.
