Get out of here you troll! Mr. Mendo is great!

      • MichaelANovelli

Yeah, I am kind of awesome.  I won’t lie.  :-)

I watched it long ago and didn’t like it either, but had to keep that to myself ’cause I lived in South Carolina at the time and it was very popular there.  I thought it was utterly stupid. The only thing I found believable in the film was the bully scene in the first part of the movie.  The rest of it is so unplausable that it must have been about some alternate earth. No way any of this could have happened. I think the core of it’s popularity is the desparate belief that as stupid as I am there is someone more stupid than me and look what he did!   Right.  What a fairy tale.  P.S. This is the Agony Booth and there has been a bit too much sweetness and light lately.  More hate!  Also hurray for the obscure and movies that can hardly yell a coherent story.  Without the review of Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny on this site, I would have never known what dreadful cinema really was.  I appreciate what you do.

Aw, shucks…  Now I HAVE to keep making videos.  :-)

People apparently really enjoy lists.  It also helps on things like Digg.

Looking Forward to that Snoop Dogg Hood of Horror Review. The reason why the makers of Forrest Gump and anyone who wants to write yet another baby boomer coming of age story that isn’t “A Christmas Story” are < Mr. Mendo is because all of that shit is a waste of two hours and the tones of paper that is needed to produce the book version. Mendo, on the other hand, had something valuable to say.

Around the time I saw 'Gump' in 1994, and a little later when it won Oscars over 'Pulp', I gave up on Hollywood and the public's ability to discern good entertainment from bad. Now, 20 years later, as independent talent on the internet and other sources of entertainment take audiences away from Hollywood, bit by bit and I watch one of the new breed take apart a hollow soulless creation called Forrest Gump, I smile.

Trust me, that’s been on my list since there even was a Hack Attack…

I quite like this movie, but it definitely didn’t deserve the Oscar over “Pulp Fiction.” Oh well, chalk it up with the lack of a Best Picture nod for “The Truman Show”, “The Dark Knight” and “Wall-E.”

  • I am always interested in critiques of films that get praise up the ass like Forrest Gump. I am still SO pissed off that the likes of Avatar, Up, and District 9 got nominated for best picture when the Oscars completely overlooked The Dark Knight.

    • Tim Terrell

I agree that Avatar was fair 2 out of 5 stars and District 9 was mostly AWFUL.

      • Word. District 9 felt like a half-assed Twilight zone episode, and I don’t mean the classic series from the 1950’s and 60’s, I mean the newer series that was hosted by Forrest Whitaker… hello, my name’s Forrest, Forrest Whitaker, I was in Battlefield Earth!

Please do a review tearing apart Avatar!

      • chromesthesia

I didn’t finish Avatar because it was annoying. District 9 was way better in my opinion.

  • I love hearing insight into the making of these videos. Very interesting stuff. Will you be doing a Scott Pilgrim Commentary?

    • MichaelANovelli

      Sure thing!  ;-)

  • The cop pulling out the mic wires is suppose to say the peace protesters are spine-less self-rigteous shit heads!!!

    • MichaelANovelli

Well, that just explains everything!  ;-)

  • That asian cheerleader/wanttabe lesbian is so hot!!

  • chromesthesia

I still think Shawshank Redemption should have won over this movie.
