Commando (1985) (part 6 of 6)

The fight moves on to hand-to-hand combat. John tosses Bennett around, while Bennett rips the door off the furnace and tosses it, and then beats on John with a steel pipe.

During this, a large section of pipe is jarred loose, and the combatants end up trying to push each other into the furnace face first. This brings me to another thing about Arnold films I love. The man makes the goofiest vocalizations during action scenes, always going “yeeaaarrrggghhh!” in some hilarious way.

It’s right up there in terms of unintentional comedy with Roger Moore’s groans in some of his later 007 epics, and Harrison Ford’s ultra-loud grunts of exertion during fight scenes.

A fan of less than great cinema since childhood, Ed divides his time between writing scripts, working an actual paying job and subjecting himself willingly to some of the worst films society has produced.
