VIDEO: Prom (2011)

Cecil does something way out of the ordinary for the last week of Mainstream May! Prom may be a Disney film, but that doesn't mean it isn't a charming little drama/comedy. If you like movies like She's All That, you really should give this one a chance.

VIDEO: Chernobyl Diaries (2012)

It's another entry in Cecil's more serious "Exploring" series, as he takes a deeper look into the Chernobyl disaster and how it influenced the horror film Chernobyl Diaries. Six young tourists take an "extreme tour" of Pripyat, Ukraine, the abandoned city near the Chernobyl reactor, and as you might expect, things don't end well for them.

VIDEO: I Am Number Four (2011)

Mainstream May for Cecil continues with I Am Number Four, a movie adapted from a book series that unfortunately was dismissed as another Twilight knockoff. While there is a teen romance and superpowers, the film is fast-paced entertainment and not the dull mess that the Twilight movies ended up as.

VIDEO: Blood Diner (1987)

A pseudo-remake of the Herschell Gordon Lewis classic Blood Feast, and one of the most ridiculous horror comedies of all time. Two brothers (and their uncle, who's just a brain and eyes in a jar) open a restaurant that serves the best food in town, and the secret ingredient is all the people they killed in sacrifice to resurrect the goddess Shitaar.

VIDEO: Reindeer Games (2000)

This week, Cecil gets serious again to talk about John Frankenheimer's extremely under-appreciated action crime thriller Reindeer Games starring Ben Affleck, Gary Sinise, and Charlize Theron. And stay tuned after the review for a reading of the classic holiday poem "'Twas the Flick Before Christmas"!

VIDEO: Suburban Commando (1991)

Cecil looks at Suburban Commando, another cheesy relic of the '90s, starring Hulk Hogan as an alien mercenary who comes to Earth for vacation and rents a room from Christopher Lloyd and Shelley Duvall, and soon they find out that space bounty hunters are after him. If you like Hulk Hogan movies with random appearances by mimes and cantaloupes, this is the movie for you!
