Ah the good ol' PKE meter, also seen in They Live. A totally awesome cheesy film I think you should put on the list for review. Maybe there's something about wrestlers turned actors and that prop that go hand in hand.
12/4/2012 5:59:20 PM
Yep, I think the prop guy was just loaning it out all willy-nilly!

Glad you didn't do a certain forced meme pertaining to this particular film. I kept bracing for it but it never came.
12/4/2012 5:59:58 PM
I purposely dodged that one. No need to do something that has already been done to death.

Is this a new review, because I noticed you went back to the old intro. As for the movie, I'm surprised you didn't mention that Laser from American Gladiators was one of the bounty hunters. The one scene that still makes me laugh whenever I see it is the Undertaker with the toilet bowl seat around his neck...talk about a weird movie for the Undertaker to be in. Also, the WCW movie Ready to Rumble is a Good Mad Movie too...so much cheese and once again, David Arquette helped to kill WCW in that movie. DDP was absolutely hilarious in the movie though, it's a movie that is so outlandish it can't help but be entertaining (Perry Saturn said on his website back awhile ago that every performance in that movie was bad...his included).

This was an old one. I didn't have a new episode for this week so Albert posted an older one that was never on the site. I'll have to watch Ready to Rumble again. When I saw it I didn't like it but I was kind of anti-David Arquette there for a while. He did win me over in 8 legged freaks though.

Not to mention Oliver Platt is in it. I like him...
11/30/2012 4:11:41 PM
I like Platt too but he seemed horribly miscast in RTR. When I think Wrestling champion, I think someone like The Rock or Hulk Hogan, not a big fat guy. EDIT: and yes I know there have been "fat guy" champs in the past but they usually were gigantic like Andre the Giant or The Iron Sheik.
11/30/2012 5:05:30 PM
You're right! When you look at the poster with Arquette and Caan in a headlock, you expect a muscle-bound behemoth. With Platt... well, at least he has some charm :-P.
11/30/2012 6:29:49 PM
Exactly. I think Platt is at his best when he plays a corrupt politician...which is about 90% of his roles these days. heh
11/30/2012 5:51:40 AM
Most people say Andre the Giant gave the best performace for a wresler in The Princess Bride!!!
11/30/2012 1:17:10 PM
Maybe not the best performance by a wrestler but definitely one of the best movies to star a wrestler.
11/30/2012 5:08:35 AM
Well, there was ONE Hulk Hogan role that was in a big screen flick, as Thunderlips in Rocky III.
11/30/2012 1:16:30 PM
Classic. When I was little I swore his name was Thunderwolf for some reason.
11/30/2012 2:41:40 AM
Every time they say his name I keep thinking they're saying "Chef Ramsey". Obviously this movie was made before Hell's Kitchen came out.
11/30/2012 1:15:29 PM
lol just a weird coincidence. I do wonder if there is a reason behind the name...I mean, Shep? An odd one for sure.
