It's another Requested Review! This time, Sofie reviews The Muppets, the 2011 movie starring Jason Segel, Amy Adams... some kind of lizard-thing called Kermit, and several other weirdos.
And in the bonus video, due to overwhelming demand for more music in her videos, Sofie throws together a medley of some of her favorite Muppet movie tunes!
Spirited Away (2001)
Sofie looks at the strangest of Miyazaki's movies, which, in a way, also makes it the most admirable one.My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic “Simple Ways”
“To this show’s credit, it handles the love triangle plot way better in a twenty-minute episode than a certain billion-dollar Hollywood franchise did in five movies.”Interstellar (2014): a recap (part 1 of 3)
“Despite the epic length, most of the cast will turn out to have existed to explore ideas or play second fiddle to the father/daughter relationship.”The best animated shows for female characters
“Over the years, animated shows have been able to give us solid proof that cartoons made by women, and cartoons made for women (and girls) can be successful. Here are just some of the extremely positive representations of women in different cartoon shows and franchises.”Disney’s next revisionist villain: Ursula
“The details we’re given about Ursula’s history are begging to be explored. Who was she before she was banished? And what did she do to be banished?”Django Unchained (2012)
“Will people look back on Django Unchained as Tarantino's masterwork? Most likely not, as Pulp Fiction is so culturally ingrained, and Inglourious Basterds is much more daring. However, Django is that rare film that just works on every level.”
