I never noticed Piccolo trying to impersonate Vader. Loved the Power Ranger reference.

Awesome review on a horrible movie. It would have nice if they had given Stephen Chow more control of the movie. The unofficial Chinese DB movie was closer to the anime. There was a movie done in S Korea.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jX38JOO1lTYhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgXeycX89I8

Personally, I did not mind you keeping the review in Spanish at all. Your two friends are pretty cool, btw. :)I am not a fan of the franchise due in large part to it taking forever to resolve fights (there is a reason why it is called Drag-On Ball Z) but I think what annoys me most about this movie is making the principle character white. It is the same problem with The Last Airbender where all the principle characters are played by white kids. It is like Hollywood is suggesting that the only way white people will go to see a movie is if there is a white protagonist.

I'm a Dragonball/Z fan, but I watched a few scenes of this movie when it was leaked onto YouTube prior to it's North American release and god it was really fucking awful. I just couldn't watch the whole thing, it had so much disregard for the series it was based on (and generic everywhere else). When you make a movie based on an existing franchise, it had better have more then a few random references mixed up together.
10/27/2012 2:20:23 AM
That's another problem actually, it had a few references here and there, but they were so random an nonsensical they just ended hurting the film
10/28/2012 7:34:20 AM
It made the leaked clips I watched surreal as hell. You're watching some unholy mutation of a high school teen drama and oriental action flick (both done poorly), and then the movie spits out a random reference (or says somebody's name) and you're reminded that it's a movie loosely based on Dragonball. There is really nothing I can do to defend this movie. Even if I ignore that it's based on an existing franchise, the story is bland (though bizarre) and does almost nothing to be a fun watch.

An review entirely done in Spanish? .... interesting.. Maybe I should do one entirely in Danish just to put all the none believers to rest ones and for world that yes, I am not making up any accent and I do speak a foreign languet. Rest of the review, pretty good.. it's a wonder how any-one managed to screw a popular story this badly, but well, there ya go. Scuse me while I'll go watch some team four star to restore some faith into entertainment and new interpretations of classics.
10/26/2012 7:42:45 PM
i thought you spoke denmarkian. oh well, live and learn, lol;)
10/26/2012 8:00:41 PM
I cannot decide whether you meant that seriously or not.. But yeah, I speak Danish! I am a Dane, a Danish person from Denmark which is NOT the capital of Ikea. Denmark, Dane, Danish. there ya go.
10/26/2012 9:17:12 PM
I hate Ikea, how that store became popular is beyond my comprehension. Shitty store design, shitty products, shitty building instructions...why it isn't viewed in the same negative light as Wal-Mart I'll never understand...
10/27/2012 6:51:51 AM
Really? I like Ikea, their furnitere is always fancy looking and actually keeps very well. I actually don't remember ever having any-thing Ikea that broke. Maybe if you don't put it together right it would break, but other-wise, it's a really handy store with affordable prices for a person like me whom does not have a lot of money.

Team Four Star themselves did their own IRiff on Rifftrax's website. It's clear that they hated the movie too and it's easy to see why. While there were elements from the show that were there, it had the misfortune of going in such a cliched high school romance direction. I'm sure Emmy Rossum is familiar to you too Sofie.

If you go to my youtube page you'll find at least 10 more videos in spanish to go along this one, why do I do it? Because there's a market there, there are not enough review shows in spanish which makes the whole thing something new for my spanish speaking audience, so yeah, you should try doing a video in Danish, if anything just to see how it looks like, trust me, it's worth it.Eh, it wasn't really James Wong's fault entirely, I'm certain Fox wanted to change a lot of things behind the scenes because they weren't "trendy" enough, the decision to make Goku a generic pretty boy specially strikes me as a 20th Century Fox decision.
10/27/2012 6:50:22 AM
Some-how Jerry.. I believe the Danish speaking audience would be far smaller than the Spanish speaking one. We are only five million people in the entire world speaking that languet. Just pointing out. Yeah, it probably is, all though.. the moment some-one pointed out this seemed to mix the Booh arch and the Picollo arch I couldn't help but go.. oh yeah.. that's true actually. The Booh arch does indeed start out with Gohan being in High-school, flirting around with one specific girl, very teen style, that's probably where they got that from! and, well, suddenly I can't hate the movie just as much as before, I still don't like it, but having that little explanation in place, it's tough hating it as much.

Sofie doing a review in Danish? I could swear that her sexy coworker with a mustache has been bugging her to do exactly that! ;-)
10/27/2012 6:46:47 AM
Meh.. don't know what I would be doing. I don't know, maybe at some special occasion.. December does mark my first year anniversary of being on the booth, I don't know, we'll see.
10/27/2012 10:41:05 AM
You could review something Danish. Like Forbrydelsen! (Last time I'll mention it, I swear!)
10/26/2012 6:40:00 PM
lol, the downside of the work from the director of "Final Destination" and "Final Destination 3" :P
10/27/2012 1:00:44 AM
I actually didn't know he had directed "The One" until Alga told me, which does explain a lot about this movie, if you think about it...
10/27/2012 2:52:38 AM
"The One"... I remember that movie! I don't remember hating it much other than the fact that it was a generic Jet Li movie
10/27/2012 4:12:53 AM
Generic is the perfect word to describe this movie too xD
