For some reason I thought the little baby Godzilla was called Godzuki.
8/24/2012 12:54:30 PM
Actually, there was a Godzuki. It was part of the brief animated series and it was horrible.

Well, excellent review, they are a real gem on that site! :DAnyway, I watched few re-booted Godzilla movies from 1990's on national TV in my my country, and they looked silly for me, with repeated shots, and cheesy CGI. I'm wondering how you would reviewed them...
4/21/2012 3:05:05 AM
To be honest, I'm not much of a fan of the Millennium series, but it does contain one of my favorite Godzilla films- Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidora- Giant Monsters all-out Attack. Fun to say, fun to watch.
3/31/2012 4:16:41 AM
Fear Fan, I love your work on this site. In theory, you can never get enough Godzilla although the big green guy will color your perceptions. After the recent tsunami and subsequent radiation leak in Japan I fully expected that Godzilla would come striding out of the Sea of Japan. I felt horrible about myself but isn't that how just about EVERY Godzilla movie starts? Japanese Earthquake and /or tsunami, nuclear accident or intentional detonation and then, cue rampaging green lizard! My Saturday afternoons as a child were spent watching Godzilla and Gamera movies. Perhaps I over did it. If you ever want to do a "Worst of Godzilla" series be sure to include the wretched "Godzilla versus the Smog Monster."easily the green guy's nadir.
4/1/2012 3:45:04 AM
Well, I'm glad you enjoy the series, and I definitely intend to do one of the flat-out bad entries in the future. However, as far as the low point of Showa-era Godzilla, I'd have to say that that's Godzilla's Revenge A.K.A. All Monsters Attack. The only revenge Godzilla got in that film was on the paying audience. Now, I know that one was done strictly for the kiddies, but for the love of God, why? Was the audience demanding more Minilla? Was Dr. Pepper behind this? WHO ARE THE OVERLORDS OF THE UFO?!?!?!?!?!?!
5/11/2012 2:08:27 PM
Hello everyone, longtime reader and first time commenter!Alas, I feel that in terms of being a sequel to the original Godzilla movie, thematically and entertainment-wise Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster is one of the *best* of the series! Love your show, Fear Fan You are easily my favorite presenter on this site, with no disrespect to the others of course.Haven't seen the video yet but I haven't seen this film since 2002, almost ten years ago now! I look forward to watching your dissertation on it...
3/26/2012 11:59:51 PM
Hey there Fear fan, I did not think I would be seeing another godzilla movie on her but glad you picked this silly american rework hehe. I just wanted to point you at a rather good zombie movie I saw not too long ago, which although being low budge had a very nice personal feel to it that I have not felt since The Last Man on Earth with Vincent Price. The movie is called I am Omega, which yes is somewhat similer to I am Legend, staring Mark Dacasos as a loner up in the mountains that has been living through a zombie apocolyps. Personally i got a lot of emotional investment out of this from the way Mark plays his character and the smart ways he has set up to defend himself night and day really feel practical. Though I of course respect your on opinion and would love to see this little gen appear on the show for better or worse.
3/28/2012 3:08:04 AM
Ah, yes, I've heard of I am Omega. It was a mockbuster released around the same time as I am Legend. Of course, in my introductory episode, I SWORE that I would never review a movie from The Asylum, but I'll tell you what. I listen to my fans, and I respect their input, so I'll give the movie a watch.Furthermore, whether it's good, bad, or somewhere in between, I'll be sure to do some sort of review on the thing whether it's a full-length review here on the Booth, or just part of a quickey on my upcoming horror news show The FearCast.
3/28/2012 11:11:44 AM
Well I am glad to hear you are atleast flexible in what you will review although I am sorry I did not remember your introduction episode. I would never ask you to go back on something you swore for my sake and I'm sure true fans would agree the same. Though again it is good to see a flexible critic not afraid to take on something the fans would make a good review. Either way I hope you enjoy it on some level and will keep my eye out for your review. Will the FearCast be part of this site or have you branched out to another?
3/30/2012 4:11:19 AM
Actually, the FearCast is going to be a video series I'm hosting on my Blip channel. I'm hoping to do an update a week.
3/31/2012 7:59:59 PM
Ah very good, I did not know you had a Blip channel so I will have to add it to my bookmarks.
3/26/2012 2:04:31 PM
It could have been worse: they could have been plugging Vernors and not Dr. Pepper.
3/25/2012 4:54:15 PM
I know I'm going to look like an asshole for commenting on it and it's not technically part of the review, but... it's spelled "Voorhees"!
3/26/2012 1:09:29 PM
Actually, that portion was copied from my Blip description, so the spelling error was originally mine. I've fixed it on my account, but I'll let Albert know so he can fix it here. Thanks for the heads up!
3/25/2012 4:21:33 PM
Now Here's a movie I'd thought I'd never see again.
3/26/2012 1:08:08 PM
Yeah, it's a shame it was never released on DVD in the US. In fact, the same can be said for the next entry in the series, Godzilla vs. Biollante, which is rather underrated as far as I'm concerned.
3/25/2012 1:31:45 PM
Fear Fan delivers the good stuff. More Fear Fan, Saturday Morning Glory and Mr. Mendo please!
3/26/2012 1:07:09 PM
I'm trying to step up production, so who knows, you might just get what you wish for.
3/25/2012 6:54:42 AM
Nice stellar review, I enjoyed that. It's funny how all though I have never seen a godzilla movie all the way through I can't help but be very curious about these things.
3/26/2012 1:06:31 PM
Well, if you're curious, one of the best is "Godzilla, Mothra, and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack". Hard to say, fun to watch. Don't worry about continuity, since it's one of the Millennium series and pretty much works as a stand-alone entry.
3/29/2012 4:51:37 AM
GMK happens to me my favorite in the Millennium Series. The suit and feel harkens back to the terror of the 1954 release, and when Big-G unleashes a mushroom cloud within viewing distance of a school classroom ... man, Kaneko really hit the symbolism dead on.The plot's allegory deviates significantly from the usual Toho Alien / Scifi staple, but as silly as the spiritual angle is, it gives the unstoppable juggernaut dread much more weight.
3/30/2012 4:13:31 AM
True. And more than that, it's interesting to see how attitudes in Japan have changed. Given what the supernatural angle IS, it offers a unique look at how Japan's views of WWII have changed.
3/25/2012 5:51:41 AM
Good stuff, man. Though for some odd reason I not have several shares of Dr. Pepper stock and yet I have no recollection of buying them. Weird. I saw this once when I was a kid, might have to track it down again sometime.Looking forward to New Nightmare.
3/25/2012 5:55:20 AM
That should be no "now"...damned keyboard screwing up my jokes.
3/26/2012 1:03:48 PM
And I now have the logo tattooed on my chest...Odd.
3/25/2012 5:25:24 AM
...product placement? Nah. I almost always have a craving for a delicious Dr. Pepper.
3/25/2012 6:53:50 AM
Doctor Pepper is disgusting D:
3/25/2012 8:37:48 AM
I'd say that about pretty much every soda outside of a few brands of root beer. Outside of an occasional root beer, I haven't been a regular soda guy since 2007.
3/26/2012 1:02:59 PM
Yup. Some might argue that it's because they were supposed to meet with the helicopter, but given that the building seems to border a large, open area where a helicopter could easily set down, I'm just going to say that it's because they're idiots.
3/25/2012 4:36:53 AM
All I remember is that I loved this movie when I was a kid...and Godzilla sleeping. Loved the original Gojira. Also my video freezed at your selection of DVDs from the opening. We have some similar tastes I see.
3/26/2012 1:00:18 PM
Yeah, I actually grew up with this one too, and have a lot of fond memories of watching it with my dad. Also, glad you like my collection, and I assure you that it's only a small part of the whole.
3/25/2012 4:20:53 AM
Yes! Two updates in one day! And this one should actually be awesome!
