Great stuff. I'd recommend checking out Craven's The People Under the Stairs. It's just as goofy and amusing.

The real irony is that my copy of shocker came in one of those two-fer packs from Walmart. The other film? The People Under the Stairs of course.

This movie sounds a little like The Horror Show, also from 1989, with Lance Henriksen.
11/10/2011 4:00:22 AM
Never seen it, but I'll definitely check it out now that you've mentioned it. After all, everything goes better with Lance Henriksen.

The two movies were made the same year, but yeah, they do mimic each other in some ways.

Does that hold true for Hellraiser: Hellworld?
11/1/2011 12:09:57 PM
"Uh you missed: the stabby bit is supposed to go into the other person", complete with motion demonstration. Nicely done.

What can I say? My show is nothing if not educational.

My niece looks exactly like the little girl in the digger. She's out right now doing Halloween dressed as a ghost. Without a limp or a digger, of course :-)

Then you missed a great opportunity.

I've looked through your videos now and.. I really dig this video series. They are really good. A good mixture of fun and information. I never ever heard of this one before.
10/31/2011 9:11:09 AM
Glad you enjoy the series! I always think the background behind some of these is awesome, so I try to work it in whenever I can.
10/31/2011 3:06:18 PM
It's the best aint it? Sometimes the background of a movie.. even the good ones.. are tons more fascinating than the movie itself. I mean boy do I love Charlie Chaplins the dictator just as its own movie.. but oh my god! the story behind it oO; that is just beyond fascinating. I love you give some back ground.. and I love that you hated monsters as much as I did... it's true.. it's two hours of nothing..

Great show as always. Man, I remember now why I never got through this one when I tried to watch itForgot the great guest cast, young Richard Brooks and Ted Raimi, not a team you see often!
10/30/2011 11:56:31 AM
What's effed up about a lot of the movies I review on this show is the way I'll suddenly notice little details that I've never seen before. For example, that guy always looked sort of familiar, but I never pegged him for Ted Raimi until now.
10/29/2011 12:59:04 PM
I was wondering when you'd turn up again. Glad to see Ilsa and Salo didn't warp you for good...
10/29/2011 5:42:30 AM
Wow. This movie looks... nutty.Best review in a long while!
10/30/2011 11:54:39 AM
Glad you think so, Stillsaw! As for this movie being "nutty", I can definitely guarantee that fact. Trust me, it's worth a watch this Halloween, and it goes better with some other friends who have a love of cheesy 80's horror.
10/31/2011 1:43:31 AM
Speaking of Halloween, that is a series that needs to be covered. At least the later ones with the Druid stuff
11/3/2011 12:08:06 PM
Don't worry, it's on the list, but it's going to be a while before I get to it.
