Part Two of “The Special Relationship”!

In the web series Britannia Rules?, Richard Murphy looks at memorable moments in British film, TV, and pop culture. By special request of the Agony Booth, Richard is doing a series-within-the-series titled “The Special Relationship”, where he looks at American movie remakes that don’t quite live up to their British source material.

In the second episode of “The Special Relationship”, Richard compares and contrasts the 1971 British gangster film Get Carter starring Michael Caine with the Razzie-nominated Get Carter remake from 2000 starring Sylvester Stallone, Mickey Rourke, Rachael Leigh Cook, and Alan Cumming! Richard explains why one film is far superior to the other (guess which one!) and why the remake might have been vastly improved with the addition of a Bette Midler montage.
