Video Show: The Film Renegado

VIDEO: The Road to El Dorado (2000)

While you wait for Renegado’s upcoming 50th episode spectacular, here’s another crossover special! Renegado’s home is invaded by two unexpected guests: Stephan and a cartoon ball named Nootrac (get it?). To kill time until they figure out just what the heck happened, they review The Road To El Dorado, the movie that killed DreamWorks 2-D animation.

VIDEO: Bad Ass (2012)

Remember Epic Beard Man? Well, it turns out they made a movie about him. That’s right, somebody’s cell phone video of two guys fighting on a bus has been made into a movie… starring Danny Trejo. No, really.

VIDEO: Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 (2011)

NOTE: This review is in Spanish with English subtitles. This time around, the main leads have kids, and they’re more annoying than ever, which isn’t helped by a ridiculous plot that has nothing to do with them at all. At least the movie still features George Lopez’s voice… Wait, why is that a good thing, again?

VIDEO: Jarry Putter (2003)

From the depths of the cheapest Mexican cinema comes Jarry Putter, a softcore porn parody of the Harry Potter franchise (specifically Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone). Renegado and the Porn Critic team up to guide you through this rare, random, and weird gem.

VIDEO: Shark Attack 3: Megalodon (2002)

The Renegado takes a look at one of only two shark movies set in Mexico, and the one that’s known the world over for being one of the worst movies ever made, and also for having a famous line that got dubbed over with a shout-out to I Love Lucy in the TV version. So hop on your Sea-Doo and get ready to cruise right into the mouth of unintentional hilarity! Features a special guest appearance by Obscurus Lupa!

VIDEO: Santo vs. The Vampire Women (1962)

It’s Halloween, and per the Renegado’s made-up tradition, it’s time to talk about everyone’s favorite lucha libre superhero, El Santo! This time, he tackles Santo vs. Las Mujeres Vampiro, which would later be dubbed into English, retitled Samson vs. The Vampire Women, and mocked mercilessly on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Featuring cameos from all your favorite Agony Booth contributors, and the Blue Demon!

VIDEO: Saving Private Perez (2011)

A Mexican drug lord embarks upon an epic suicide mission to Iraq to rescue his brother and bring him back home. A parody of the drug lord lifestyle and action movies in general, Saving Private Perez is a movie you can’t miss, and the Renegado is here to tell you why!

VIDEO: The Crime of Father Amaro (2002)

A young priest is sent to a church in a small town. His arrival sets off a chain reaction of thorny politics, sexual relationships, and betrayal, after he falls in love with an underage girl. Renegado dives in to find out if the controversy is enough to make the film worth watching.

VIDEO: Nacho Libre (2006)

Renegado watches Nacho Libre, a movie where, for reasons beyond the understanding of mere mortals, Jack Black plays a Mexican monk who becomes a lucha libre wrestler. Sure, he’s trying too hard with the fake accent, but is the movie really that bad? Find out in the video!

VIDEO: Jack and Jill (2011)

Jack (Adam Sandler) gets a visit from his identical twin Jill (also Adam Sandler) and “wacky” hijinks ensue, including Jill dating both a stereotypical Mexican gardener and Al Pacino, who’s playing… himself? It’s a comedy so devoid of humor, you can feel your life draining away as you watch it.

VIDEO: Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003)

Juni Cortez enters a virtual reality game where he must stop the evil Toy Maker, played by a confused and over the top Sylvester Stallone… who also plays his own henchmen? Not only that, but there are brief appearances from the likes of Selena Gomez, George Clooney, Salma Hayek, and Elijah Wood. Can the Renegado survive the ridiculous plot and endless parade of awful cameos?

VIDEO: Fando and Lis (1968)

Renegado dives into the madness of the world of Alejandro Jodorowski with two reviews of his first film, Fando and Lis. The movie follows the two title characters on a journey through an apocalyptic wasteland as they descend into madness.
