VIDEO: The Scorpion King (2002)

The Cinema Slob is ready to rock (hah!) as he reviews The Scorpion King, a spin-off film from the popular Mummy franchise. Often looked down upon for simply being a cheap attempt to prove Dwayne Johnson could be believable as an action star, the Slob finds that there’s a lot more going on in this movie. And most of it involves a perpetually half-naked Kelly Hu.

VIDEO: Lady in the Water (2006)

The Slob begins a special series of reviews called The M. Night Before Christmas, where he looks at the films of the internet’s favorite punching bag, M. Night Shyamalan! First up, Lady in the Water, starring Paul Giamatti as a crazy super who finds Bryce Dallas Howard in a pool, and discovers she’s a mythical mermaid-thing who’s come to protect the savior of humanity, cleverly played by Shyamalan himself!

Now equipped with an alien ring, the Cinema Slob heads to Chicago’s sci-fi convention Cyphan, to get help from the only man who knows comics, the Last Angry Geek! It’s a fitting end to Superhero Month, and the first proper “crossover” from the Slob.
