Rejoice! Your Official ‘Veronica Mars’ Movie Trailer Has Arrived

Remember when celebrities Kickstarting their new projects was sparkly and new, like Veronica Mars, instead of old and evil and exploitative and annoying like Amanda Palmer? Your touching faith in the former has now been rewarded with your first look at your bouncing baby Veronica Mars movie.

In the trailer, which debuted exclusively on Thursday’s episode of E! News, Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) learns about her former beau’s legal troubles—he’s been accused of murdering his girlfriend. But let’s be real, the only thing Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring) could be guilty of murdering is our hearts. All this happens just as Veronica is close to landing a plum gig as a high-powered New York attorney and making a happy life with Piz (Chris Lowell) in the Big Apple. Will she throw it all away for LoVe?

Yes, actually! Do throw it away for love, (or for LoVe, which is apparently an actual Veronica Mars thing) because becoming a high-powered attorney will suck out your very soul, and then you will not be the bubbly Veronica everyone knows and loves. Also, much love to everyone involved in the project who set the new story ten years out from the end of the series — the conceit is that Veronica is home for her high school reunion — rather than in a wacky Kollege Kaper, which would have rung false with a now 33-year-old Kristen Bell.

The crowdfunded movie gets a nationwide theatrical release March 14, so it probably isn’t too weirdly early to start counting down the days.
