I totally take credit for the eyes thing. Even though probably hundreds of people made the same observation and post this…..but still, mine!

This episode was good. Can’t wait to watch more and get to my personal favorite, Sailor Jupiter. Speaking of Ami, I know this won’t happen, but would be pretty rad if they did their abridged version of the Darkury arc on PGSM. That would be a major swerve (not a Vince Russo SWERVE, because that would be just dumb) and probably get that OH SHIT YOU GOTTA CHECK THIS OUT GUYS moment.

With the changes to the opening theme song and SM naming herself I don’t see TM doing much to save them every week this time around much more girl power this time.
Since we see Ami in the closing seconds of Episode 1, Its definite Ami will be in episode 2, but do we know how many episodes there will be? I don’t remember the anime sequence to well but i don’t think it was like PGSM were Usagi finds the whole team by episode 4.
plus no turtles, All the girls will like Motaki

If it’s as close to the manga as they’re saying it will be, he won’t have that chance. Mamoru has powers, but it wasn’t emphasized in the anime. Let’s put it this way (ALSO POSSIBLE SPOILERS OMG SPOILERS): the Golden Crystal from the SuperS anime season? It doesn’t actually belong to Chibi-Usa.

it will be a while before it gets to the Super S story line

I know…I was just circuitously agreeing with you. 😛

I never read the comics. so there is that.

          • TiakerAvelonna

            Fair enough. 🙂

  • So much for PGSM concept of only having the iconic hairstyles in Sailor mode, also is this Sailor Moon set in the 2010s or still the 1990s? I ask this as I saw nothing that points to it being set in the present day.

looks to be back in the 90s, i mean Video game arcades went the way of the record store a long time ago.

      • I was wondering about the arcades but I heard that they still have a lot of those in present age Japan but with mostly dance-machines and ticket prize games, but the lack of mobile/smartphones is suspicious.

          And no Mullets

I hate to say it, but Usagi’s voice is really bothering me this time around. I know it’s the same actress as back in the day, and I can’t say why it makes me grit my teeth now when it didn’t 20 years ago. Maybe they’re trying to make up for the lack of emoting from her huge lifeless eyes.

Finally, finally caught the pilot episode. Sorry I couldn’t make the slumber party, but I’m all caught up now.

When you say that this current show looks closer to the original, which do you mean: the manga, 90s animated show, or the live-action PGSMs we went through last year (and thus introducing me to this universe)? I’ve enjoyed this immensely, particularly all the “hey, that’s what happened in the other show!” moments.

My one over-riding thought: what is it about Tuxedo Mask that makes him resemble Ric Ocasek?

    • JD

I know there is a Cars joke in there somewhere i just cant think of it.

        He does have Stranger Eyes.

And he’s pretty Touch And Go.

        And he’s the Dangerous Type.

        And he’s Getting Through…to Usagi.

And the Mooniverse is definitely a Quick Change World where the Scouts always play in the Fireball Zone.

        Dude, too easy.

          I having a bad day 🙂

I still do not get how this did not get on TV someplace.

    • Jay_Bay

I thought it was on TV on Japan’s stations? And only we can get it mostly thru crunchyroll and the like.

      • JD

I Guess i meant in the US.
toonami ,HUB, cartoon network, no one wanted this?

I don’t think it’s about want, it’s about who bought it. Hulu owns the rights and so they decide which of it’s subsidiaries gets it. Online streaming is probably the most lucrative option.

you going to do another live watching for episode 2?
