For sheer nostalgia, I love Rudolph, Frosty, and Charlie Brown.

While I was actually somewhat moved by MR. MAGOO’S CHRISTMAS SPECIAL (hell, it was one of the first I ever saw), I think my all-time favorite Holiday special is IT’S THE GREAT PUMPKIN, CHARLIE BROWN. I mean, who can’t identify with “I got a rock (thunk)”? Or having your best friend try to sell you a made-up line of total b.s.?

I’ll have to agree on the rock line. Often I use it as a reaction to somebody bragging about their new fancy car or something.

“I have a brand new car! It’s fuel efficient and paid for!”
      “I got a rock…”

The Fat Albert Easter Special. I saw it as a kid and didn’t like it because it had too much drama in it that a kid doesn’t want to see in his holiday specials. Today it’s the one that I go to first; both because I actually understand it and appreciate it now, and because it’s Fat Flippin’ Albert.

Otherwise, Charile Brown specials for me. Too many Rankin/Bass to narrow it to
one; and although it’s not a holiday special, there’s that same magic in
        the animated Hobbit for me.

“I have a brand new car! It’s fuel efficient and paid for!”
        “I got a rock…”

That’s my reaction to anyone who posts their good news online when I have none of my own to offer at the same moment.

I remember watching the old hobbit movie in the third grade… it was fine.

Might want to give the Fat Albert Easter Special a watch! it’s one of the few Filmation shows I can tolerate.

    The Grinch is my favorite.

Well, since KISS Saves Santa and The Night The Reindeer Died are technically not actually real (but totally should be), and Lobo’s Paramilitary Christmas Special is just a comic (and yes I’m aware of the YouTube short) I’m going to go with Blackadder’s Christmas Carol.

It’s so hard to settle on just one because there are just so many I adore, if I had to pick a favorite off the top of my head at would probably by A Muppet Family Christmas. If were talking animation, it would be either A Garfield Christmas or Will Vinton’s Claymation Christmas Celebration.
