“Goatee McMastermind”. I have to remember that name for one of my Champions RPG sessions. 🙂

Well worth watching twice to get some love for one of my favorite old franchises. I couldn’t say how many times I replayed these, but it was a lot. Cheesey to the point of inducing cringes the apparently dynamic mission content (actually scripted) is the sort of immersiveness games don’t bother with anymore. These days whatever the briefing says the mission is – that’s what it is. Don’t want to confuse the mouthbreather demographic. Gone are the days when everything can go to crap during a mission and force you to change gears. Heck, these days “enter the kill box and shoot everything” is considered too plot heavy.
About the changes to hardpoints; I never used anything but extended range medium lasers in 3 without forcing myself to try something else for novelty’s sake. I did the math and they were good. In 4 I ended up using everything. So from my perspective it added a lot of replayability.
