I agree with you that this seems to be one of the better entries in the series although from what I have seen of the Friday series (admittedly, not all of it), there’s more misses than hits and I’d say the Nightmare films are, on the whole, better quality. Jason Goes to Hell was the first one I saw and it’s utter crap, I’m really looking forward to your video on it.
Also, I’m so sorry to hear your dog died, my condolences.

Well, I can definitely agree with what you’re saying about hits and misses, and while I’m more of a Nightmare guy too, the best of Ft13th is yet to come!
And yeah, Jason goes to hell is when I’m REALLY going to start having fun. 🙂

    A masterpiece of defenestration!

Hats off to you for keeping these reviews of this franchise funny! There’s just not as much here in the way of story, character and mythology as in an Elm Street or Halloween, but somehow you keep doing your thing. The sameness of the movies is why I like some of the less popular entries like Jason Goes to Hell or New Beginning because it at least freshens up the formula somewhat. So good job. And lastly, sorry to hear about your buddy; loss is hard.

Thanks! Given the number of similarities between films thus far, it hasn’t been super easy past Part II, but I’m glad to hear that I’m keeping things fresh! Thinking things’ll get a little easier once I’m at Part 6.

After some of the comments you made while working on this episode, I thought that some of the jabs would have fell flat or some such. Instead, this episode is on par with your usual one-two comedic punches (Forget Freddy vs Jason, it’s Timberlake vs Crystal Lake, AND IT’S ON!)

Now I know the source for this malaise, all I can think of is Rorschach’s quote about the great clown Pagliacci. Sometimes it isn’t enough (as the death of Robin Williams showed us) to know that our talents cheer up hundreds or even thousands of people worldwide. Feeling alone in a threatening world has to be the worst fear anyone can face.

That being said, I can’t wait to see what zingers you have in store for the treatment of “Jason Takes Manhattan”.

Very glad you enjoyed the review! I was feeling a bit down when I wrote it, but I’m glad to see that didn’t come across. 🙂
Also chomping at the bit to get to Part 8: Where the biggest victim is logic.

Thanks for another great review and I’m sorry about your loss. As a dog lover, I know that losing a pet can be as heartbreaking as losing a family member. Hell, I consider my pets to be my family members. Rest in peace, Wally.
