Gasp. Shock. "Bad movies are like fine Texas chili. It burns, but it's a good kind of burn." - Sam Starfall
EA is like that uncle you have who seemed normal enough when you were a kid but then gradually became convinced that the NSA was watching him and was going to steal his gold bullion and give it to the Reptilians and five years from now he'll be refusing to leave his basement because of the "Frankenstein earphone radio."

at least Dan Aykroyd is getting good use out of his Yogi impression. Funny how they HAVE to appeal to the tweeny audience so they go for Justin Timberlake as Boo Boo lmao 'I have one more question, stupid octopus'

This film isn't going to be any good unless Yogi Berra has a cameo. Or unless Yogi tears someone apart for playing with Boo-Boo, but that's asking for a little much. Anybody who don't like that, daddy, don't like chicken on Sundays.

I can already see that this is gonna be one of those movies where everyone will automatically hate it even if they haven't seen it or it isn't that bad. Still, I'm not to hopeful for this one. Part of me still refuses to accept that what I just saw was real and not a hoax. Quote:Just remember... Hanna Barbera has tons of these properties. Snooper and Blabber. Touche Turtle. Hokey Wolf. Jabberjaw. Huckleberry Hound. Kwicky Koala. Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har. And much, much more. We're not out of the woods, we're not. Yeah but since most of the characters you mentioned aren't as well-known as Yogi we still have some hope. Our tribute to those who, but for poor foresight and timing, might have been hailed as the scientific colossi of their epoch, but instead are largely forgotten, even amongst their immediate families.

They've already done the Flintstones and Scooby Doo. Those three are the most well known properties. Heard Robert Rodriguez was interest in producing a live action Jetsons though. On the Looney Tunes front, they are starting to do live action flicks too.....like that Speedy Gonzales shit. 'I have one more question, stupid octopus'

A lot of people blame the success of Alvin and the Chipmunks for films like these. Probably it's going to be converted to 3D instead of actually shot in it. Yes, kids will go see it, but probably not going to see it in 3D, since people, according to an industry study, are paying more for the 2D option. I don't know why Marmaduke flopped, but in the wake of that film, Yogi might not do good at the box office. I was secretly expecting Marmaduke to be successful, but to my surprise, the film flopped. Will Yogi Bear have the same results, or will it be in between success and failure. I don't understand why people make cartoons into live action. Even at 8 years old, when I saw Inspector Gadget in the theater, I was seriously confused why they did it. With the Grinch movie, I became confused, too. How hard is it to make a cartoon for TV when the 3 major kids channels make live action teeny bopper shows? My life after the debut of High School Musical has seriously changed. No longer was I an innocent human being. I had to figure out how to bust my chops to make a cartoon. Believe me, I'm trying to push the format of the cartoon.

In defense of both the Flintstones and Scooby-Doo, those movies weren't too bad. And the Scooby franchise has enjoyed a pretty cool renaissance ever since that first movie. Like a dozen DTV flicks that are way better than they have any right to be, three shows (even though the Shaggy and Scooby show really, really sucked), etc. That said, I'm really not feeling that's going to happen here. Because, unlike Scooby-Doo, I can't see any way to turn Yogi Bear into a coherent narrative that lasts 90 minutes. Seriously, this guy was made for 5 minute cartoon shorts that are all virtually identical in what I'll generously refer to as "plot". Unless this is going to be about Yogi's Space Race, the Spruce Goose, or the Laff-A-Lympics, I don't see how a story can... exist here. At all. Deluded writer with a dream, but not talent. Yeah, that's not cliche or anything.

Quote:Probably it's going to be converted to 3D instead of actually shot in it. Looking at the #1 most reliable source ever, Wikipedia, it seems they decided on 3D early enough (i.e. before production started) to shoot the film that way. Still, just because it was shot in 3D doesn't mean it's going to be "Avatar" or anything. Quote:I don't know why Marmaduke flopped I'm going to take a wild-ass guess and say it's because it's based on a comic that nobody in the past few decades has read except to mock it. And the twelve fans who actually un-ironically like it were turned off by the fact that Marmaduke actually talks. And there was no reason for families to see yet another talking-dog movie, especially when they could wait and see "Toy Story 3." Quote:Heard Robert Rodriguez was interest in producing a live action Jetsons though. See, I can see that being successful. Unfortunately, Rodriguez put it off to reboot the "Spy Kids" franchise, for some reason. Anybody who don't like that, daddy, don't like chicken on Sundays.

Rifftrax material right off the bat. Coming soon to a theater near you: Foofur: The Movie.(holy Christ, a cartoon too obscure to have a TV Tropes page? I've got to be kidding me.) "Bad movies are like fine Texas chili. It burns, but it's a good kind of burn." - Sam Starfall

The Great Race is actually good. Most of the movies I've been putting up on this board are movies that not only I think will basically suck, but are 3D, too, not that I'm anti 3D, but when Hollywood rushes for a format perfected by Avatar resulting in 3D not so good, then the technology loses its novelty, and it makes me want to buy a regular new Mitsubushi LED HDTV with built in 18 speaker surround sound. Again, with every Avatar, there's 3 or more G-Forces. Clash of the Titans, Last Airbender, Cats and Dogs 2, and some others? Maybe.
