VIDEO: Eragon (2006)

We’re sorry...

This video is no longer available due to the shutdown of Blip.tv.

It’s the premiere of What We Had to Watch, where your host Il Neige braves the cinematic dangers that lie just beyond the fourth wall to critique the best and worst of 21st century filmmaking! In his Agony Booth debut, Il Neige takes a look at the fantasy adventure Eragon, a film based on a book written by a kid, for kids. It’s the Kidz Bop of Fantasy Literature!

okay agony booth, your doing what networks do, find producers who made many reviews to post later and post them on the site. smart.

    • You do realize we have Il Neige contributing because of the quality of his show?

      • Carlos Rivas

        yes

Ah, good to see you again! I saw your videos some time ago through Blip’s related videos once. Good to see you here!

They should have expanded more on the story of the Jedi—er, I mean the Dragon Riders. Just kidding, no I don’t. This movie was ass.

I haven’t seen your work before and already I found me a new favorite. Welcome to the Booth, Il Neige (“it’s snowing”?), and best of luck in your show!

thanks to this we will never see a Pern movie

      Sad, but very true.

Given what the showrunner of the proposed PERN TV series said, perhaps that’s a good thing. The WB Network was behind it and wanted a teen fantasy series to appeal to its core audience by forcing McCaffrey’s work to conform to WB teen show conventions. Really. You wouldn’t want to see that.

        • JD

no one would want that.they need to give McCaffreys series to the guys who did the Scifi channels version of Dune.the teen show might work with the Harper trilogy, lots of angst in those

    Good stuff, Il.

And I had completely forgotten this movie existed.
Amusingly, I remember the “hey young people what have YOU done” sort of pressure, and answered with “here are some drafts of things.” Nothing came of that.

I laughed out loud a few times while watching this. Good stuff.

  • Cristiona

I’d always heard, but never saw, just how aggressively unlikable Eragon is.

  • Tim Terrell

This is a good series (WWHTW, not the Eragon books). I laughed out loud more than once.

The book was alright. Easy to read, understandable plot, relatable characters, etc. The movie, however, was the biggest load of shit I’ve ever seen. I walked out of the theater visibly and audibly pissed off. I even tried to get my money back for that horrible piece of crap.
