VIDEO: El Santos vs. La Tetona Mendoza (2012)

We’re sorry...

This video is no longer available due to the shutdown of Blip.tv.

It’s the (four months late) fourth anniversary of the Film Renegado! To celebrate, he’s reviewing a Santo movie, except it’s not. From the minds of newspaper comic writers comes a bizarre animated adventure starring pretty much every Mexican talent in existance, including the Bichir Brothers, Cheech Marin… and Guillermo Del Toro! Also, stick around until the end for a song featuring lots of cameos, including the whole staff from the Agony Booth!

And so much fun for Mendo Explosion to sing!

      • MichaelANovelli

Yeah, turns out Sofie’s not the only one on the site, eh? 😉

What am I? An invisible taco?

          • MichaelANovelli

Well, we all kind of assumed you were at least music enough to dance around a hat…

          • Jerry Nava

            My stereotype senses are tingling

          • MichaelANovelli

“Stereotype sense?” Pastafazoola! That’s-a spicy meat-a-ball!

          • danbreunig

Hm, now I’m all hungry and thisty. [grabs a can of Pabst]
Vas ist this schtereotype sense, ja?

          • Muthsarah

I’ll tell you all about it, but first you have to stop beating up that Pole. And that Czech. And that Belgian. And that Norwegian. And that Frenchie. And that Greek.

          • FullofQuestions1

Stereotypes? What stereotypes? *chugs Kefir while pirating movies and watching figure skating* What, I need to wind down after my meeting with my fellow spies.

          • FullofQuestions1

The hilarious part of two very special Russian stereotypes? Russia has stricter laws than the U.S. when it comes to online piracy and alcohol consumption,

          • Muthsarah

I have no idea what country you’re coming from, where it is on a map, or even if it
exists at all. But if you ever say another bad thing about my country, I’ll shoot you down with one of my 2,391 legally-owned firearms. Because freedom.

          • FullofQuestions1

I was born in Russia. And funny you should say that, Mendo. My family lived in Ukraine for a long time. They fled once World War II started.

As for chess, I kinda suck at it. I know how to play it, but my mind just can’t figure out the strategies. When I was seven, my grandmother took me to the chess club she sometimes plays at and had me play against this seven-year-old boy. I ended up moving my king in front of his king- the cardinal sin of chess. It was a sign, man.

Although people seem to find a way around such laws… My cousin lived in Kuwait, where alcohol was completely illegal, and people had wet bars in their homes.

          • MichaelANovelli

Yeah, my own experiences in the Middle East showed that about the only thing they’re REALLY touchy about is pork, over there.

          • $36060516

I wonder if someone makes the opposite of soy sausage for the Middle East — pork that’s disguised as vegetables.

          • MichaelANovelli

What, no chess? You may as well be Ukrainian!

          • MichaelANovelli

Oh, go eat at a reasonably-priced restaurant!

          • CaptainCalvinCat

Zis is KAOS – ve don’t schtereotype here. ^^

So, here goes yet another listing thingie:

I spoke too soon about Tacoman being an ambitious video.

    !Feliz cuatro aniversario Senor Renegado!

Animated El Santos, toilet satire of South Park, blood and boobs of Heavy Metal, non-linear plot of Cheech & Chong films, absurdity of Aqua Teens, basic modern-day Cartoon Network animation quality… They threw a whole bunch of movies into a blender and hit the high-speed button. Thanks, paraphrased reference to MST3K’s The Wild World Of Batwoman.

Guillermo D.T. in a speaking role? Nice…I think.

What can mere fan me do for my part toward the cause?

Hooray for the Team Agony Booth Choir!–give or take 25 members. And to all the sister site hosts, too!

So Mendo, Renegado–are songwriters now? Alright, that cuts it–I definitely need to write and record an Agony Anarchists song now sometime this year!

“Here’s to 4 more years!” Right back at `cha.

    • MichaelANovelli

Oh, it’s not the first time. In our very first collaboration, I wrote the Bob Dylan parody that Spazz Master sang…

    • Jerry Nava

Thank you very much for the comment! 😀

Haha, I like to keep my audience surprised with ambitious videos from time to time 😛

      Thank you again!

Yeah, that’s the film in a nutshell.

See my 2 reactions in the video xD

We were all just having fun with the concept of charity songs, but not using adblocker when watching our videos actually helps a lot, and so does spreading the word about it.

I just love having everyone in the show <3

Mendo had already written a song, for our first crossover in fact! Also can't wait to hear your song!

    annoyin’ factcheckin’

    * That music from Rocky that plays in the training montage isn’t “Eye of the Tiger” (from Rocky 3), but “Gonna Fly Now” (from Rocky 1).

    * The concentration camp scene is a parody of “Schindler’s List,” not “Sophie’s Choice.” “Sophie’s Choice” was in color, while “Schindler’s List” was in black and white with a single element in red (a little girl’s coat).

    • Jerry Nava

Oh shit, gonna correct the one about Schindler’s List right now, sorry about the wrong fact!

I’ll probably reupload tonight, thanks again!

      • Quick question: About this movie that you just reviewed, was it ever released to other countries or is this a Mexico-exclusive release?

        • MichaelANovelli

That depends: are you seeking it out, or trying to contain it?

        • Jerry Nava

As far as I know this movie has at least been released in the US, it’s been on film festivals of other countries but just that. Still, you shouldn’t have troubles finding a copy with english subtitles.

      • $36060516

Sorry to just mention something negative — I was tired and didn’t have a chance to add that I could see all the hard work everyone put into this video. Good job, Jerry and friends.

        • Jerry Nava

It’s ok, pointing out mistakes isn’t negative at all, I know I’m not perfect but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t fact check all the time, honestly for some weird reason I always get Sophie’s Choice and Schinder’s List mixed up, don’t ask me why, I just don’t know xD
