10 great double feature ideas

Since the advent of home video and later the internet, people can now have double features of all kinds in their own homes. Here now (in no particular order) are 10 great double features you can have at home and why I find them ideal.

Jane the Virgin: Losin' it (finally!)

I like that this episode doesn’t bother with the Latin Lover Narrator flashback to Jane’s childhood and how it relates thematically to her present day problems. She and Michael finally got the go-ahead to have sex and they’re going to do it, dammit!

Supergirl: Always bet on green

Doctor Strange (2016): Fun, but forgettable

Considering their earlier efforts to downplay or explain away any and all “supernatural” characters and occurrences in the MCU as simply “aliens” or “really advanced science”, I do get the impression that Marvel made this movie less because they wanted to than because the fans wanted them to.

Supergirl: I'm with President Wonder Woman

The President of the United States (Lynda Carter!) visits National City to sign a historic amnesty bill allowing all aliens to come out of hiding and live among us in peace. And by “aliens”, they mean aliens from other planets, but it’s hard to miss the obvious parallels to the other kind of aliens dominating the shitshow that is our current national political discourse.
