VIDEO: Primer (2004)

We mark the release of Upstream Color by looking at writer-director Shane Carruth’s debut Primer, the dense and confusing story of two scientists who accidentally create a time machine in their garage. Dr. O’Boogie takes a deeper look at the twisted tale of multiple timelines that sent scores of people to the internet desperately searching for an explanation of the plot.

VIDEO: Robot Jox (1989)

Renegado wants to build his own giant robot, so he sneaks into a giant robot building facility, of course, and takes a look at a movie with similar themes. Features appearances from Cecil from Good Bad Flicks, and a robot with a chainsaw penis!

VIDEO: Leprechaun: In the Hood (2000)

Once you’ve sunk low enough to send your horror franchise into space, the only place left to go is the hood, apparently, as Warwick Davis faces off against rappers (namely, Ice-T and a guy who was on Star Trek for four seasons and only had ten lines) in Leprechaun: In the Hood, the fifth movie in the Leprechaun saga.

Ursa dips her toe into the weird and wonderful world of women’s soccer (or as Ursa calls it for some reason, “football”) and Sikh culture. With Spice Girls references, Keira Knightley, football montages, and a lead character who’s secretly a Disney princess, this is Bend It Like Beckham!

Inspired by the recent Manti Te’o story, Dr. O’Boogie reviews the documentary Catfish, about a guy named Nev who falls for a girl over Facebook who’s not quite what she seems. The Doctor sounds off on whether this “documentary” is real or fake, and finally reveals to the world what he really and truly looks like!
