VIDEO: The Apparition (2012)

We’re sorry...

This video is no longer available due to the shutdown of Blip.tv.

It’s the debut of a brand new show: Friday Night Fright Flicks, where your hosts Count Jackula and the Horror Guru review current horror releases, letting you know which ones are worth the price of admission! First up is The Apparition, where a couple of college students (Twilight‘s Ashley Greene, and some guy) perform an experiment that unleashes an evil supernatural presence. This inspires Count Jackula to hook Horror Guru up to a machine that makes all his fears a reality! Just like the way they don’t in the actual movie!

Is it weird that the Mr. Jenkins voice kinda turns me on?

Tom FOWLER…?Β  From The Quiet American?Β  Was that colander made of mercury, by any chance? :p

Such a short review.Β  Is there really so little to mock about?

    • Liam Barrett

Current movie reviews tend to be shorter than nostalgia stuff generally, because there are less clips you can use without it being obvious you’ve broken some sort of law.

      • Liam nailed it. Β Though there’s also the fact we’re trying to keep the reviews spoiler free since the films we’re covering are still in theaters. =)

  • I do believe I’m going to like the series. I presume Resident Evil Retribution is next? Sure, it’s horror only by the loosest possible definition, but still. Hope you don’t beat me & Anarchy at the Movies to it. πŸ˜‰

    • It’s definitely on our list. πŸ˜› Look forward to hearing your take on it, regardless who gets to it first. πŸ™‚

  • Kids today!

I swear to God, I almost read your name as Count Chocula. I was expecting you to be eating a bowl of cereal during the review.
Good work though, I liked it.

    • Thanks for the feedback and Count Chocula is freakin’ delicious! =)Β

Guys! This is Brilliant! I think you need to do “Branded” next; though I think it’s on the fence on whether it’s a comedy, horror or science fiction.

    • Nah, it’s gonna be satire, but it looks more horror/sci-fi than comedy

      • Tedzey71

I had a feeling, but from what I heard it seemed like it had elements of it. Though from what I hear, it sounds pretty bad :-

    • Believe me when I say it’s not a horror movie. Jack and I suffered through that thing earlier today. πŸ˜›

    Great review, guys!

  • Sofie Liv

    Okay, this is awesome.

Didn’t know you two were a team on the same show, that’s a great idea! very well put together, I loved it.Β

  • Had to comment agian because:
OH MY GOD IT’S RAPE STOVE

Actually I work at the company borrowing the production the measurement devices. (Yes, we well such things, I don’t know what percentage of users uses it for actual ghost hunting.
How course the production didn’t pay for them. I don’t know if you can even see them in the actual movie as they are not in the trailer.
Apparently it was shot at the place the TV-station of the GDR used to be.

    • That’s pretty cool, thanks for the information! =)
